Hello everyone! I am so happy to be giving you another update about what I am currently up to. Since the semester started I have been absolutely CRAZY busy. I started off the semester traveling somewhere I have dreamed about for a few years now. I went to NAMM! It was absolutely insane. That will be a post of its own soon.
After I got back from NAMM though, I immediately headed into tech week rehearsals for Apollo Music Club's showcase, Miscast. Getting to perform musical theatre songs that were written for men was a very interesting experience. I got to sing one of my favorite musical theatre songs of all time, "Heaven On Their Minds" from Jesus Christ Superstar. Although I am pursuing a career in pop music more so than musical theatre, I love to perform and sing great songs no matter the genre.
A week later, Britt and I were performing at the Acoustic Singer/Songwriter Showcase AND Dad Shack again all in the same week! We have some amazing pictures and video you can find from that show on our band's Instagram and Facebook pages. Just look for askingforit_music on Instagram, and search "Asking For It" on Facebook!
We also are so happy to announce that we have officially started recording! We have been so busy that we barely have had time to record, so a big shout out to Adam Becker who (excellently) plays bass and guitar with our band at shows and is producing our records!
We are ALSO happy to announce that we have three shows coming up this month! We are on the bill for a show at the Black Oak Tavern in Oneonta on 3/21 with Rigid headlining, and we are also playing at Dad Shack a third time on 3/23 and we are part of WONY Island this year! WONY is SUNY Oneonta's radio station that puts on a massive concert of student performers every year. We are very honored to be a part of this annual event.
Not to mention, I am also doing a bunch of stuff on my own which includes sound designing a play, and performing at my senior recital. I certainly am keeping very busy. I hope to come back and expand more on my experiences this semester but no promises! There is so much to do!
